Sports Massage focuses on tissue which is directly related to specific sports activities. Many athletes consider massage to be an important part of their training regimen.
Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger points are tiny knots that develop in a muscle that is injured or overworked. This is a common cause of headaches and neck and jaw pain. Unexplained pain can radiate from points of local tenderness to broader areas, sometimes distant from the trigger point itself. Trigger point therapy stops the spasm/pain cycle.
Reiki is a spiritual hands on approach to healing and self-improvement. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
A form of deep-tissue massage which can help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being.
Inflammation, surgical intervention and traumatic injury can cause scarring and physical / emotional restrictions. These restrictions will not show up in X-ray and CAT scans but can cause pain and pressure. Myofascial Release treats the entire mind/body complex.
Deep Tissue Massage
This massage modality applies deeper pressure in target areas that are beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layer of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer of tissue surrounding muscle, bones and joints).
Reflexology involves applying pressure to the feet using specific hand techniques without the use of oil or lotion. It is based on a system of zones and reflex areas that reflect an image of the body on the feet. Reflexology has been known to create a physical change to the body.
Hot Stone Massage
Hot Stone Massage Therapy incorporates direct heat of stones and relaxes muscles, allowing your therapist access to deeper muscle layers. The hot stones also encourage blood flow throughout the body, relieve chronic pain, reduce stress and promote deep relaxation.
Corporate Massage Program
We work with employers to offer specific massage therapy and self-care information to employees as part of a wellness or staff appreciation program. Chair or table massage sessions can range from 15 minutes to one hour per employee. A small room is all we need to provide a low-cost, high-return work break with lasting benefits.
