ABOUT > FLOAT FAQs
Do I need to bring anything?
YOURSELF! We provide the essentials (towels, shampoo, conditioner, ear plugs, etc.). If you wear contact lenses, bring your lens case. If you forget, it’s okay! We have you covered! There is no need to bring a swim suit unless you want to. Our float rooms are totally private.
Will I sink?
It is impossible for you to sink! There is 800-1000 lbs. of medical grade Epsom salt in each tank! The water is only 10-12 inches deep. People often fall asleep and there is no risk of rolling over.
Can I float while pregnant?
ABSOLUTELY! Floating can facilitate a bonding experience with your baby. It is a wonderful way to relax. The weightlessness created by the salt relieves sore muscles and joints. If you have any concerns, please consult your physician.
How are the tanks kept clean?
The large quantity of Epsom salt in the water creates an environment in which most bacteria cannot survive. In addition, we follow a rigorous multi-step process to insure all pods are kept immaculate. We have a state-of-the-art filtration system that filters the water 3 times after each float. A UV light and ozone purification system is used to eliminate any possible residual bacteria. We use hydrogen peroxide as our sanitizer to complete the process.
Can I float while on my period?
ABSOLUTELY! Follow the same etiquette you would use for a swimming pool.
Also note that some women may experience increased sensitivity due to hormone fluctuations. If stinging does occur it usually subsides in a few minutes. If stinging persists get back into the shower to remove the salt and apply vaseline ointment liberally as a protective barrier on areas of sensitive skin.
